Tourism

Oman is situated at the Eastern part of the Arabian peninsula. With sultan Qaboos Bin Said taking over leadership in 1970, the country became accessible for foreign tourists and Oman has been modernised in many aspects. Oman is a country characterised by a very pleasant and hospitable population, in which you can travel around also individually without any problem. You will find wadi’s, souqs, extended desert scenery and beautiful beaches. In its recent fast development, the country wants to preserve the authenticity of its rich Arab culture.

In general, the climate in Oman is warm and dry, although it varies in the different regions. During the summer the coastal areas are hot and humid, whereas its inland is very dry at the same time. In the mountains and in the Dhofar region (south), the climate is moderate during the whole year. Temperatures in Oman vary from a 15° Celsius in the winter to 48° Celsius in Muscat or even 54° in the desert, during the summer. In Dhofar, the annual monsoon from June to October ensures a complete metamorphosis; the region changes into a tropical oasis with lush vegetation.
